Robert Schuman european Centre

The Centre Robert Schuman invites you in the House of Robert Schuman in Scy-Chazelles, France.

The Robert Schuman European Centre(CERS) is an independent non-profit organization which was created on the 9th of May 2000. It has developed a range of educational tools which serve to educate European citizens on the history of European integration, the achievements of the European Union, and the issues and difficulties facing Europe and its future.

Through the educational service of the House of Robert Schuman, a museum dedicated to the Father of Europe, the CERS helps, with around ten educational workshops, to educate several thousand young pupils per year about European issues.

With the collaboration of numerous partners, notably the European Network for Education and Training (EUNET) and the French Federation of Europe Houses, the CERS has developed a range of Europe-related educational opportunities: citizenship courses for young people, inter-cultural training courses, French-German and European professional courses, etc. It also organizes, for the benefit of teachers, both standard education and continuing education courses on teaching Europe.

The CERS also undertakes the organization of European events on behalf of businesses, regions and NGOs, notably in the Saar-Lor-Lux-Rhineland-Palatinate-Walloon “Grande Région”. Finally, it facilitates, on cross-border, community and international levels, the coming together and cooperation of European citizens, associations, regions and businesses.

The design, construction and distribution of educational tools on Europe are also an important part of the work of the CERS.

The CERS does not seek to make a profit, and has no political, religious or philosophical objectives. It is financially supported by the European Union (the European Commission and the European Parliament), the French Foreign Ministry, the General Council of Moselle, the Robert Schuman Foundation (Paris), the Robert Schuman Association, the French-German Office for Youth, etc.
