Activities of the Robert Schuman Museum

Programmes for young people

European days:

The participants plan their day by choosing from around ten activities. All of the activities can be carried out in two languages (French & English or French & German), typically within the framework of class exchanges or school twinnings.

Educational trips:

The CERS organises tours through different European memorial sites located in the Greater Region, which encompasses the regions of Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Wallonia, for school exchanges or intercultural projects. These educational trips are tools to make the student aware of the conditions that gave Europe its current political, social and cultural forms. It allows them to understand the different influences that shaped the European integration.

All of the activities can be carried out in French, English or German.

The programmes are set up in close collaboration with the organiser.

Programmes for adults


A European day in Scy-Chazelles:

Besides the visit of the House of Robert Schuman, the group leaders are free to choose between different activities to set up a either a half-day or full day programme. These activities are available in French, English or German: a conference-debate (on the work of Robert Schuman, the history of European integration, European institutions, the politics and challenges of European Union), as well as playful activities on European topics.

Cultural European trips:

The CERS organises tours through different European remembrance places located throughout the Greater Region which encompasses the regions of Saarland, Lorraine, Luxembourg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Wallonia, especially for  Seniors. It makes participants aware of the different cultural influences that shaped the European integration. Each activity is available in French, English or German.

These programmes are set up in close collaboration with the organiser.

Week of Europe (every year at the beginnig of May)

In close collaboration with the General Council of the Moselle and other European associations, the CERS organises many events each year (Middle School Day, High School Day, European day for families, public conferences, ...) to commemorate the Declaration of Robert Schuman made on the 9th of May, 1950, which is the cornerstone of the Franco-German reconciliation and the birth of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) which then became the European Union.
