Robert Schuman European Centre - CERS
As a member of the French Federation of Houses of Europe, the Robert Schuman European Centre, House of Europe of Scy-Chazelles, has received the national accreditation for educational associations supplementary to public education, pursuant to articles D 551-1 et seq. of the Education Code.
At the end of 2019, the Robert Schuman European Centre obtained the "Youth and Popular Education" accreditation as a member of the Fédération française des Maisons de l'Europe (FFME). This accreditation is valid for a period of five years: 2019-2024.
Children and young people under the age of 18 make up half of the audiences that the CERS encounters each year. Respecting and supporting their rights requires the CERS to prevent harm and actively protect the interests of children and young people.
Children and young people are not miniature adults: they need more respect and care than adults. It is this caring, understanding and respectful environment that will enable them to develop the skills that will make them "well behaved" adults.
Stop adultomorphism: the Rights of the Child and UNICEF principles provide a comprehensive framework for understanding and responding to the impact of activities on their rights and well-being: Save the Children, the UN Global Compact and UNICEF inspire and guide the CERS in its relationships with children and young people.
