Robert Schuman European Centre - CERS
The Robert Schuman European Centre (CERS) is a hosting, sending and coordinating organization accredited to the European Union – under the LEAD Label – for the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme. Every year, CERS welcomes a long-term European volunteer (11 months) who helps the centre carry out its youth targetted programme, while also sending around ten French volunteers on short or long-term mobility in other EU countries.
The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) forms part of the European Union’s policy which promotes the mobility of young people in Europe. The ESC is one of the possibilities on offer for young people to take an active part in the construction of Europe.
ESC attendees gain cross-cultural experience as they rely on a transnational partnership between youth organizations and the voluntary work.
The Robert Schuman European Centre (CERS) is a host, sending and coordinating organization which offers young people the opportunity to do their voluntary service every year in a European context or setting. The ESC mission of CERS is called "Learning Europe through play". The volunteers are integrated into the activities of the European Union via an intercultural educational service. CERS an dits volunteers are therefore active contributors to the European education of young people.
