A facilitator/speaker presents the history of European integration to the group, from the Schuman Plan of 1950 to the functioning of today's European institutions, highlighting the relationship between Robert Schuman’s work and the key stages of European integration: successive enlargements, the single currency, and new challenges facing the European Union.
The extended version takes the form of a collective intelligence activity known as a “World Café.” Participants are divided into small groups, each working on a specific theme with the support of the facilitator and accompanying teachers. At the end of the activity, each group presents its findings in the form of a poster.
Objectives:
- Test participants’ knowledge of the history of European integration.
- Identify the main phases of the European Union’s enlargement and deepening processes.
- Raise awareness of current challenges and recent developments within the European Union.
