For more than a decade, Eurocitizens in Action has brought together French and German high school students every year with a shared goal: to meet, exchange ideas, debate, and build the Europe of tomorrow together.
Led by the Centre européen Robert Schuman (CERS), in partnership with the Europäische Akademie Otzenhausen (EAO) and with the support of the Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO/OFAJ), this project has become a key event promoting European citizenship.
Each edition offers participants a week filled with:
- language workshops;
- intercultural encounters;
- civic debates;
- artistic projects;
- educational visits and cultural discovery.
These experiences enable young people to better understand one another, confront different perspectives, and strengthen their commitment as active European citizens.

From 28 September to 2 October 2026, 36 French and German participants will meet for a new edition entitled:
"Geopoetics: The 110th Anniversary of the Battle of Verdun Through Poetry Slam"
On the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Battle of Verdun, participants will reflect together on memory, peace, and the future of Franco-German relations through creative writing and poetry slam.
Looking Back at Recent Editions
2025 – Democracy and Living Together
In Saarbrücken, participants discussed civic participation, intercultural dialogue, and democratic values before presenting their reflections in a virtual exhibition.

In Metz, students imagined their vision of Europe in 2050 through a Franco-German animated film created using artificial intelligence tools.

Drawing inspiration from the Fiquelmont Peace Message, participants reflected on memory, reconciliation, and Franco-German friendship before producing a documentary report.
