European Tales and Legends – A look back at our visits to the LPO Alfred Mézières in Longwy
In spring of 2026, the final presentation of a multilingual project on the theme of European fairy tales took place. Over a period of several months, the CERS worked with the LPO Alfred Mézières in Longwy to inspire and support groups of pupils as they made theater plays of European fairy tales. This interdisciplinary project was supervised by the CERS, as well as by the school’s teachers and language assistants for German, English, Spanish and Italian.
Our programme included:
The “Euromind” quiz: A fun activity that enabled the pupils to discover the richness and diversity of Europe, whilst testing their knowledge.
Fairy tale workshops in German and Swedish: We also presented a German fairy tale, “Town Musicians of Bremen”, and a Swedish fairy tale, “Queen Disa”. The pupils took part in activities based on these stories to understand them better and to reflect on their messages and relevance today.
Showcase: A final performance during which all the groups presented their plays of the international fairy tales.
Our participation in this project was funded by the Interreg programme Engagement'GR. Many thanks to the students and the teaching staff for their participation and enthusiasm!
