The European Dictation Continues Its Journey Across the Greater Region

This spring, the European Centre Robert Schuman (CERS) organised two new editions of the European Dictation, in partnership with the City of Montigny-lès-Metz and the Greater Region House in Esch-sur-Alzette. These events gave numerous participants the opportunity to explore European history and values through an original activity combining the French language, culture, and heritage.

The first edition, held on 16 May in Montigny-lès-Metz, featured a text highlighting the town from the perspective of European integration. Participants also discovered the history of the Europa Hall, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, as well as the stories of three major figures of European history: Joseph Schaff, Robert Schuman, and Konrad Adenauer.

A few weeks later, a second European Dictation took place at the Greater Region House in Esch-sur-Alzette. This edition focused on the 75th anniversary of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), the first milestone in the process of European integration. Through an original text, participants looked back at this founding achievement and gained a better understanding of its lasting legacy in today's Europe.

The CERS would like to thank all participants and partners for their commitment to the success of these two events, which reflect our shared ambition to make European history accessible to everyone.
